Mandriva XWITS - A Semantic Help Desk
Mandriva is one of the leading Linux Distributions. The XWiki-powered Mandriva Club boasts more than 25,000 users from about 25 nationalities. To provide them with an optimal level of service, Mandriva chose XWiki to develop an innovative Semantic Help Desk. Mandriva XWITS is built on top of XWiki Enterprise.
Open Questions
Members have access to the list of asked questions. They can browse through the list of existing questions, filtering them by author and date. Tags provide an intuitive way to browse issues.
A Typical Question
Every question can be answered by any user who holds relevant pieces of information. With every quesion are associated bits of semantic data, such as the software, hardware and known issues it relates to. Additional lifecycle information is available as well to help classifying issues.
Closed Questions
User can access the list of all closed questions and search it to find the ones that might help them.
Asking a Question
When no relevant answer is available, users can add their own questions to the list. They are asked to enter specific bits of semantic information related to their issues so as to provide the basis for content analysis.
List of Changes
Additionnaly, users can subscribe to the RSS feed of changes to the Help Desk space. Thanks to this feature, they can keep themselves informed of the activity that is going on in the community and share their own knowledge when new questions arise.
